Knowing how to act can help
you better manage situations that may arise in the coming days and support the people around you. If you have symptoms (fever, cough or breathing difficulty), follow these steps:
1-SELF-ISOLATE
In a room for individual use with a window, keeping the door closed, and, if possible, with its own bathroom. If that is not possible: keep a safe distance of 2 metres from the rest of the household and be extra careful with hygiene.
2-STAY IN TOUCHKeep a phone to hand so you can report any needs that arise and stay in contact with your loved ones.
3-FEELING SERIOUSLY UNWELL?If you feel short of breath or seriously unwell for any other reason, call 112.
4-YOUR REGIONAL HEALTH HELPLINEIf not, call the helpline set up by your region (Comunidad Autónoma) or contact your health centre by phone.
5-SELF-CARE
Take paracetamol to control your fever; apply damp cloths to your forehead or take a lukewarm shower to help bring the fever down; drink plenty of fluids; rest, but move around the room from time to time.
6-HOME ISOLATION
7-WASHING HANDS
Make sure everyone at home knows how to do a proper hand wash
8-GETTING WORSE
If you get worse and have breathing difficulty or your fever will not come down, call 112
9-14 DAYS
It is recommended that you stay in isolation for 14 days from the start of symptoms, provided the clinical picture has resolved.
10-DISCHARGE
Monitoring and discharge will be overseen by your GP (Atención Primaria) or as directed by your region.
