Cyber security

Covid-19

In the event of a cyber incident

that brings the systems of the insured party's technology provider to a standstill and it cannot carry on its business activity, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOUR POLICY COVERS the loss of profits, the fixed operating costs incurred by the entity (including salaries), and the expenses to mitigate the loss of profits resulting from a partial or total interruption of the external provider's IT system due to an incident at that provider, occurring during the insurance period.

IF, WHEN YOU TOOK OUT THE POLICY, you told us that the insured party and its employees connected to the company's systems remotely (remote desktops, email or file servers) via VPN or SaaS (i.e. Gsuite or Office 365), you do not need to notify us if more staff are now connecting remotely, provided the same security standards are applied.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE CYBER INSURANCE, REMEMBER TO TELL YOUR BROKER IF:

• Some of the insured party's employees are connecting remotely without meeting the same security standards.

• The insured party did not previously allow remote access to its systems and is now connecting remotely

• The insured party is processing payments (PCI) remotely

• The insured party uses personal devices that do not meet the company's security requirements to connect remotely or to cloud provider services.
